The Route 85 entrance to the Institute and Meeting Center is seasonal and therefore, December 1 - April 15 guests should use the Pond Hill Road entrance. Continue on Route 85 to the stop sign in the village. Turn RIGHT onto Main Street (Route 351), and turn RIGHT again onto Pond Hill Road. Continue to the top of the hill and turn RIGHT at the entrance onto the Meeting Center campus.
From the Albany International Airport:

1. From the airport parking lot or terminal loop, turn right on the airport access road. Proceed to the traffic light and turn left onto Albany-Shaker Road.
2. Proceed south for .4 mile and turn right onto Route 155.
3. Proceed west on Route 155. At the third traffic light take a left. This is still Route 155. Continue for about 8 miles to the traffic circle in Voorheesville.
4. Veer to the right onto Route 85-A and proceed 3.2 miles to New Salem where the road will end at a “T” intersection, which is Route 85.
5. Turn right onto Route 85 and proceed about 15 miles to Rensselaerville.
6. The Rensselaerville Meeting Center entrance is on the right in Rensselaerville off Route 85. When entering Rensselaerville, about ½ mile past the Rensselaerville Body Shop (on your left) there will be the entrance to The Rensselaerville Institute on your right. You will see a sign that says “The Rensselaerville Institute” at this entrance. Exit up that hill. If you reach the Rensselaerville Fire House (on your right) you have gone too far.
7. Turn right and go up the hill. The Guggenheim Pavilion will be in front of you and the parking lot is to your right.
8. In the winter months when this entrance is closed, proceed about a half-mile to the end of Route 85. At the “T,” turn right.
9. Turn right on Pond Hill Road, which is the first road on your right. The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center estate is on the right at the top of the hill.
10. When you turn into the estate, the first house on your right is Huyck House. As you proceed straight, the building in front of you is the Carriage House Restaurant. To the right is the parking lot and to the far right is the Guggenheim Pavilion.
From Downtown Albany:

1. When downtown, find I-90 West. Travel on I-90 West.
2. Leave I-90 at Exit 4 (Slingerlands/State Route 85).
3. Follow State Route 85 West for 4.6 miles. At that point, you will need to turn right at the traffic light to continue on Route 85. A landmark is the Old Blue Cross/Blue Shield building on your left.
4. Continue on Route 85 through the towns of New Scotland and New Salem.
5. At the stop sign and intersection of Routes 85 and 443 (directly across the road is a Stewart’s Shop convenience store and gas station) turn right.
6. Follow Route 85 for 12 miles to Rensselaerville.
7. About ½ mile past the Rensselaerville Body Shop (on your left) there will be the entrance to The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center on your right. Exit up that hill. If you reach the Rensselaerville Fire House (on your right) you have gone too far.

1. Leave New York City and go north on I-87, the New York Thruway.
2. Get off I-87 (The New York Thruway) at Exit 21, Catskill.
3. Turn left after the tollbooth and proceed for .5 mile. Then turn right onto State Route 23 West. Proceed West on Route 23 for approximately 8 miles until you come to a traffic light.
4. At the traffic light turn right onto State Route 32 North. Follow Route 32 for about 9 miles to Greenville, which you enter with the traffic light at the intersection of State Route 32 and State Route 81. DO NOT TURN!
5. Stay on Route 32 for 2 miles past the Greenville traffic light to the intersection of Albany County Route 405.
6. Turn left at this intersection onto Route 405 and travel 4.5 miles until Routes 405 and 402 intersect.
7. Turn Left on Route 402. Proceed .6 miles.
8. Bear right at the fork (called Route 402 Extension) onto Route 351.
9. Continue on Route 351 for 4.4 miles to the village of Rensselaerville.
10. Turn right on Pond Hill Road, which is the fourth road on your right once you enter the village. The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center estate is on the right at the top of the hill.
11. When you turn into the estate, the first house on your right is Huyck House. As you proceed straight, the building in front of you is the Carriage House Restaurant. To the right is the parking lot and to the far right is the Guggenheim Pavilion.
From Buffalo, Syracuse, Canajoharie, and Points West:

1. Leave the NYS Thruway via exit 29 (Canajoharie exit); follow State Route 10 South thru Sharon Springs until reaching the intersection of State Route 20, make a left. Proceed on Route 20 for 15.3 miles.
2. Turn RIGHT at the intersection of Route 20 & NY-30A. A Mobil station will be on your right hand side. Follow NY-30A until it becomes NY-30.
3. Go about 1.4 miles. Make a SHARP LEFT onto NY-443, go 9.1 Miles.
4. After you go 9.1 miles you will see a cemetery on the right hand corner of CR-1. Turn RIGHT onto CR-1/SWITZ KILL RD, go 2.1 Miles.
5. Make a sharp right onto CR-6; proceed for about 6 miles.
6. At the end of CR-6 turn RIGHT onto Route 85. You will see the Rensselaerville Body Shop, Continue on Route 85 to Rensselaerville.
7. At stop sign in the village of Rensselaerville, turn RIGHT on Main Street (Route 351).
8. Turn right on Pond Hill Road, which is the first road on your right. The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center estate is on the right at the top of the hill.
9. When you turn into the estate, the first house on your right is Huyck House. As you proceed straight, the building in front of you is the Carriage House Restaurant. To the right is the parking lot and to the far right is the Guggenheim Pavilion.
From the Albany-Rensselaer Train Station:

1. When leaving the train station parking lot, turn left onto East Street.
2. At the first traffic light, turn left onto Partition Street.
3. At the next traffic light, turn left onto Broadway Avenue.
4. Go straight on Broadway Avenue and follow the signs to I-787 South.
5. Travel to the end of I-787. Then turn right onto Route 9W.
6. Proceed on 9W. It will merge with Route 32. Bear to the right at the fork of 9W and Route 32 and proceed on Route 32 for approximately 3 miles.
7. At third stoplight, Route 32 turns left. DO NOT TURN. CONTINUE STRAIGHT THROUGH. You will pass a “Park and Ride” lot on your left and may think you have gone wrong the wrong way, but you are right. Stay on this road until it ends. At the end of the road turn right onto Van Dyke Road and follow it past the school bus garage and the athletic field & track on your right.
8. Van Dyke Road ends and there is a traffic light. Turn left onto Delaware Avenue also shown as Route 443. You will stay on this road for nearly 10 miles. It merges with Route 85.
9. Proceed on Route 85 for about 15 miles. About ½ mile past the Rensselaerville Body Shop (on your left) there will be the entrance to The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center on your right. Exit up that hill. If you reach the Rensselaerville Fire House (on your right) you have gone too far.
10. In the winter months when this entrance is closed, proceed about a half-mile to the end of Route 85. At the “T,” turn right.

From Connecticut and points East

1. From Connecticut, travel west on the appropriate roads so that you cross the Hudson River and eventually travel north on New York State I-87.
2. Leave New York State I-87 at Exit 22, Selkirk.
3. Turn right after the tollbooth onto State Route 144 South.
4. Go approximately 1/8 mile and turn Right onto State Route 396 West and continue for 12 miles.
5. The route number will change from State Route 396 to Albany County 301. Continue straight on Albany County Road 301.
6. Follow Route 301 for a few miles to a stop sign at a four-corner intersection of Route 301 and State Route 32.
7. Turn left on Route 32 and continue for approximately 5 miles. At top of a hill, turn right onto Route 143 toward the village of Westerlo.
8. Stay on Route 143 and go through the village of Westerlo. The route number will change to Albany County Route 1. Go straight on Route 1.
9. On Route 1, you will come to a stop sign and blinking red light at the intersection of Albany County Route 1 and State Route 85. Turn left on Route 85 West toward Rensselaerville.
10. Continue on Route 85 for approximately 5 ½ miles to Rensselaerville. About ½ mile past the Rensselaerville Body Shop (on your left) there will be the entrance to The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center on your right. Exit up that hill. If you reach the Rensselaerville Fire House (on your right) you have gone too far.

From Massachusetts and points East

1. From Massachusetts, follow I-90 West. Once you get into New York State, do not take any exits until you reach I-87. DO NOT take Exit B1 to continue on I-90 West. Past Exit B1, you will be on the Berkshire Spur, which will take you over the Castleton-on-Hudson Bridge to I-87.
2. After crossing the Castleton-on-Hudson Bridge, follow the sign saying, “Exit 22-61, I-87, I-90 North to Albany.” You want to go north on I-87 toward Albany.
3. Leave I-87 at Exit 22, Selkirk.
4. Turn right after the tollbooth onto State Route 144 South.
5. Go approximately 1/8 mile and turn Right onto State Route 396 West and continue for 12 miles.
6. The route number will change from State Route 396 to Albany County 301. Continue straight on Albany County Route 301.
7. Follow Route 301 for a few miles to a stop sign at the four-corner intersection of Route 301 and State Route 32.
8. Turn left on Route 32 and continue for approximately 5 miles. At top of a hill, turn right onto Route 143 toward the village of Westerlo.
9. Stay on Route 143 and go through the village of Westerlo. The route number will change to Albany County Route 1. Go straight on Route 1.
10. On Route 1, you will come to a stop sign and blinking red light at the intersection of Albany County Route 1 and State Route 85. Turn left on Route 85 West toward Rensselaerville.
11. Continue on Route 85 for approximately 5 ½ miles to Rensselaerville. About ½ mile past the Rensselaerville Body Shop (on your left) there will be the entrance to The Rensselaerville Institute and Meeting Center on your right. Exit up that hill. 1.Get off I-88 EAST via exit 23 - toward RT-7/SCHOHARIE/RT-30/CENTRAL BRIDGE.
2. Turn RIGHT onto NY-30A. Dunkin' Donuts will be on the right hand side of the road. NY-30A becomes NY-30.
3. Go about 2.2 miles. Turn SHARP LEFT onto NY-443, go 9.1 Miles. Turn RIGHT onto CR-1/SWITZ KILL RD, go 6.0 Miles.
4. At the stop sign take a RIGHT; CR-1 proceeds right. At stop sign & blinking red light turn RIGHT onto Route 85.
